LOCATION: Weeki Wachee River
DATE: May 27th Wednesday - (rescheduled to June 3, 2009 due to weather)
TIME: meet at 8:30AM launch 9AM
RAMP: Weeki Wachee Canoe and Kayak Rental, located on the corner of SR 50 and US 19 in Weeki Wachee - telephone 352-597-0360. If you are interested in renting, give them a call.
Enter at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, no need to pay for parking at the guard stand, after the guard stand follow through the parking lot to the back area , follow the yellow signs to the Canoe Rental
Directions: from west side of Citrus County, travel south on U.S. 19, at the corner of Cortez Blvd (SR50) and US 19, look for entrance on the right.
:from Floral City : take rte 41 south, through Brooksville, to SR 50 (Cortez Blvd)
you will continue on Cortez Blvd right to the Kayak Rental location, it is right at the intersection of SR 50 and US 19
We will paddle down the crystal clear spring fed Weeki Wachee River, water temperature is 74 degrees year round. This is a 7 mile trip going with the flow of the river. It is about 2.5 hours of easy paddling. There is a $10 fee per boat to use the ramp.

We will need Volunteers to shuttle us from the end of the trip back to our cars. Therefore, it is important that we know how many are coming.
We can select a local restaurant when we are finished, I am fond of the Thai Room at 9970 Cortez Blvd
