The next kayak trip, set up by Phil Parent and John Cameron, is to be on the Withlacoochee River down in Floral City. It will be on the 20th of October, a Tuesday. We will meet at 9:00 AM, at the boat ramp, and put in at 9:30. The boat ramp is located 4 miles East of Floral City on Route 48, just East of a bridge over the Withlacoochee river and next to a store. There is a launch charge of $3 per kayak. We will put in on the river and travel upstream for about an hour or so and then turn around and come back. It is a nice wilderness stretch of the river which at times opens up to large ponds and at times winds through cypress swamps and woods. There is very little current so it is a gentle paddle. Lots of birds and wildlife to be seen.

Directions: From Floral City, go East on Route 48 for 4 miles across the bridge over the Withlacoochee River to the store and ramp on the right. The store has provisions (food and stuff) for sale, and there are also bathrooms available.
