Homosassa Tract, Withlacoochee State Forest

Rooks Trail -- 2.7 Miles

We will meet beginning at 10 AM at the parking area. The hike will start promptly at 10:15 AM.

The Homosassa tract is a few miles south of the Homosassa Wildlife Park, on US 19, on the southbound side.

There is a fire tower and a park office just of the highway at Burnt Bridge Road which is on the left side of the park office.

To get to the parking area take Burnt Bridge Road, a dirt road, from the entrance and drive about a mile in from US 19.

This is a very easy and pleasant walk through a mix of open fields and shaded areas.

There are a several side trails that can be explored for those who are interested in hiking further.

Burnt Bridge Road is just to the left of the park office.
